Galveston Island lies off the Texas coast, in the Gulf of Mexico. Herons and mottled duck swim in the shallows among the reeds. Sea trout, flounder and croaker swim in the surrounding waters of Galveston Bay. The pirates LaFitte once established a headquarters on the island, hoping to create a Manhattan on the Gulf of Mexico. Storms, however, consistently battered the island, including in particular the devastating storm of 1900. Today 57,000 people live on this island, and show warm hospitality to holiday travelers.

French musician Fabien Claudel releases free music into the Creative Commons for the listening and remixing pleasure of his listeners. He records electronica as No Sushi and ambient material as Phoebus. Mr. Claudel's website, www.zikweb.org, contains numerous pieces which have proven popular downloads. Gurdonark and Mr. Claudel make rather different styles of music, but in the holiday spirit of mutual artistic admiration often reference and remix one another's work.

A Texas Christmas Holiday with Zikweb Travel comprises a single piece, "Galveston Island in December", which morphs, renews and revisits the following Claudel pieces:

Phoebus: "Mysterious Monks"
Phoebus: "Shangri-La"
Phoebus: "Sweep"

"Mysterious Monks", in turn, samples from Beth Quist's "Lucidity", which is available from www.magnatune.com.

Each of these tracks may be downloaded for free at www.zikweb.org, and each of these tracks my be remixed with attribution, and used in podcasts and on-line video on a non-commercial basis.

"Mysterious Monks" also uses a sampling plus sample from djgriffin of the Freeesound Project
